Implant-Supported Crowns: A Permanent Solution for Missing Teeth
If you're missing a tooth, an implant-supported crown from Dr. Nick can provide a stable, natural-looking solution without compromising adjacent teeth. This advanced option involves a titanium implant placed in the jawbone to support a custom-crafted crown on top.
Dr. Nick offers both traditional and mini dental implants, which he’ll recommend depending on your bone structure and preferences. Mini implants are a great choice for patients with lower bone density and offer a quicker recovery with fewer appointments.
Best of all, your final crown is still designed by our master ceramist, so you don’t have to sacrifice beauty for function. If you're tired of hiding gaps in your smile, let us restore it with an implant-supported crown.

FAQ About Dental Crowns in Columbia, SC
How do I know if I need a dental crown?
If you have a tooth that’s severely compromised by decay, has undergone root canal treatment, is broken, or is cosmetically flawed, a crown may be a great option for you. These restorations are one of the most versatile treatments in dentistry, so rest assured we can create a custom treatment plan that addresses your exact needs.
Will my crown look natural?
Absolutely. Our crowns are designed by a master ceramist who possesses incredible attention to detail and color. In combination with Dr. Nick’s precise prep care and placement, your crown will blend in seamlessly with your surrounding teeth.
Does getting a crown hurt?
Not at all. We use gentle techniques and local anesthesia to keep you comfortable throughout the process. Patients are often surprised by how easy and pain-free their crown placement is. Of course, optional dental sedation is available for patients who require a deeper level of relaxation.
Does insurance cover dental crowns?
Most dental insurance plans do contribute to the cost of a crown if it’s necessary to restore function or prevent further damage. However, plans typically won't help cover a crown that's for cosmetic purposes. Our team in Columbia can help verify your benefits and explain all out-of-pocket costs upfront.
How long do dental crowns last?
Porcelain dental crowns from Columbia Smiles are built to last. Thanks to Dr. Nick's expertise and our commitment to exclusively using top-tier materials, our crowns offer unmatched strength, beauty, and longevity. You can expect 15 years of use or even more with proper care.
